Close enough to collect

Stockport is one of our nearer towns, roughly ten miles from the workshop and an easy run down the A523. For small jobs that usually makes collection the sensible option: no packing, no carriage cost, and you can see the piece before you take it away. Delivery is available too, quoted on size and weight.

The kind of work we do for Stockport

Signage and lettering for shops and offices, personalised gifts and house signs, prototype and model work, replacement parts and panels, plaques and awards, and batch work for small manufacturers. If you are not sure whether a thing can be cut or engraved, send a photo and the dimensions and we will tell you.

Materials

Wood including plywood, MDF, hardwoods and veneers. Plastics including acrylic, Perspex and ABS. Metal marking and engraving. CNC routing for thicker stock, quoted per job. We do not engrave iPhones, tablets or laptops.

What it costs

The same as everywhere else we work: £30 minimum covering the first 30 minutes including basic file setup, then £40 an hour pro rata in 15 minute blocks. Artwork that needs drawing or repairing is £25 an hour and we always agree it with you first. No VAT.

Machine size and thickness

We run two laser cutters, with beds of 1300 × 900 mm and 900 × 600 mm. Because material can be fed through, we can handle pieces longer than the bed itself. Maximum thickness is 12 mm on both.

Running two machines means a long production run does not hold up everything behind it, which usually shows up as a shorter turnaround. If your piece is bigger than the large bed, send the dimensions over and we will tell you honestly whether we can do it, or split it into sections that fit.
